I bought a pair of Red Wing boots about six months ago and it didn't take more than two weeks before the laces started "blowing out" - you know, the white stuff that is under the black outer weave. Very annoying. I ordered another product from Hanks and thought, what the heck, I'll order some laces too. So far, so good - no blowouts after two weeks. I'm not sure if these are Red Wing laces or not (they came loose with no packaging indicating who made them), but they appear to be of high quality. The only reason I'm giving this review 4 stars is because I haven't had the laces long enough to know if they are going to blow out. If they don't after a few months, then I'd be happy to come back and up the rating. Eventually, of course, the laces will blow out, but I don't expect new laces to blow out in a couple of weeks, like the original laces did! Hanks gets 5 stars for service, though. I ordered on a Thursday and had the laces the following Monday afternoon.
