Took my boot apart last night to let it dry, and the shock absorber portion (red plastic) on the back of the insole was shattered. I guess I was more than just lucky, because I thought I broke my heel and didn't even bruise.

Red Wing Redbed Insoles 5.0 New Insoles-feel like new Red Wing Boots By David I have been wearing Red Wing Boots for over 40 years working as a Rancher in Oklahoma, but do to my age have been having trouble with my feet getting sore at the end of the work day. My brother and I wear style No. 2408 & No. 2406 steel toe 8 inch and 6inch boots and felt like the comfort of our boots were breaking down before the sole and boots wore out. The replacement insole is the Comfort Force which will make the boot feel like new which is also cheaper than the Redbed. The Redbed insole is built to give additional support to the ball of your heel and arch support. The Redbed is a slightly thicker insole than the Comfort Force due to the additional support built into the insole and you can feel the steel toe impression when you first insert the insole. If feeling the steel toe bother you, then the Redbed insole is not for you. I need the additional support for my arch and heel and feel like the Redbed insole was worth the additional money over the Comfort Force, however bot
