I'VE USED PECARDS LEATHER DRESSING FOR OVER 25 YEARS ON A GOATSKIN G-1 AND A COWHIDE A-2 FLIGHT JACKET. WHEN I BRING THEM OUT AFTER SUMMER I CONDITION THE JACKETS WITH PECARDS WHICH KEEPS THE LEATHER SOFT AND RETAINS THE "NEW LOOKING" SHEEN. IF YOU WANT YOUR JACKET TO GET THAT 50 MISSION LOOK THEN DON'T USE THIS STUFF AS MY JACKETS STILL LOOK BRAND NEW EVEN AFTER THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF USE. PECARDS ALSO ELIMINATES THAT "NOISY" EFFECT FROM DRY LEATHER THAT OCCASIONALLY HAPPENS, AND IT PROVIDES A WATER RESISTANT PROTECTION TO THE LEATHER WHEN YOU GET CAUGHT IN A RAIN STORM. I lost track of my tub of Kiwi mink oil dressing sometime between last winter and this, so I started looking at products. I liked the comment I found on Hank's site that Hank had used Pecard's dressing on his own boots and the way I figure it, if someone's bread & butter so to speak is taking care of leather and they choose a certain product for their own use than perhaps that product is worth a try--so I ordered some. I treated all my hunting boots and leather gloves (STOPS wind from coming through leather gloves). Three days ago I spent 8 hours shoveling mid-thigh deep snow in a pair of knee hight leather boots I had recently treated. By day's end the leather had taken in no water and once the caked snow had melted away I found the leather still well protected. I have done all my leather boots, my gloves and soon my motor bike jacket will get a rub down. Sorry Kiwi but I sha'n't miss you.
