this is the 3rd Merino wool underwear top that I have bought. Really like the tall size, since I am 6'2". The first shirt I got was a regular, but the tall just makes this really good product even better. the other reviews say it all. confortable, doesn't itch, warm, etc.

For those of you who do not like the larger neck size, Minus 33 tightened it up. It is what one would consider normal now. Personally, I liked the larger neck opening myself but, no big deal. Oh, and one change that everyone will like is they went tagless.
Four stars because they are new to me and have not stood the test of time (half star). And nobody gets five stars in my book (half star). A company should always be looking to improve.

Bought this as a second layer and it is perfect. Used it on a 10 degree day with 10-15mph winds. I used it with poly first layer and a fleece coat and was perfectly warm all day long. Added bonus is it is very soft and can be worn by itself. I bought the XL and I am 6'2" 235. It is more of an athletic fit (tighter) and a bit longer in the sleeves and body which I wanted. Overall you can not go wrong with this product for the price.

it is warm. it is not that itchy, especially if you are used to merino wool. it is a lot cheaper but no less effective than the big name brands.
the only issue is the neck opening is kinda small. if you are sensitive to something on your neck then you may notice.

Minus 33 Midweight Top

This is an excellent product. They are heavier weight than other brands in midweight . The fit is great. I am 6'6" tall and the tall sizes (which are hard to find in long underwear of any kind and especially so in wool) fit perfectly. They feel soft next to skin and there is no shrinkage even after drying in the dryer. My only minor complaint is the fit and finish of the flat seam stitching. The fabric didn't get trimmed close to the stitching in places which gives it a somewhat ragged appearance. Hank's prices are amazing.

I love all their stuff. The thermal underwear can be worn as a light sweater or long sleeve shirt if you get once size bigger. Super light and warm. Well worth the price.

I am a hunter and ice fisherman in Wisconsin we are known for our extreme weather. I do them both with temps in the minus digits. I have been for the greater part of 10 years wearing nylon as a base layer. I have tried many different brands and it didn't matter who's or what I did or didn't do it smelled of BO. Someone suggested I try minus 33 wool, so I did, man does this stuff ROCK not only does it smell good, it's warm, soft, comfortable and well fitting. I gave 4 stars because I'm not sure about durability due to being a new product for me. It is also less expensive than I thought wool would be. As for Hanks I couldn't say enough I ordered 2 shirts at different times and received them both with three days. Excellent company. Fair price, good product and FAST shipping what more could you ask for!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the second thermal top I've ordered from Minus 33 and it's just as good as the first one. These are wonderfully soft, not itchy in the least, warm, and non-binding under clothes. I've worn it alone as a sweater and also as an under layer in cold weather. It's so comfortable that you will hate to take it off. The wool wicks moisture away from the body and doesn't accumulate odors, which is nice on an extended outing.
This is a medium-weight layer/sweater (if it was a tent, it would be a 3-season model that could be stretched to 4 if the winter wasn't too severe). If you are a serious expedition type, you might want to consider a more heavyweight thermal top for layering, but for most conditions, this will keep you toasty and comfortable, especially if layered under wool. Some people have complained that the neck opening is a bit oversized, and it is larger than most crew necks, but it works for me. I have no complaints. So far have had no problems with shrinking,...

The Merino Wool is soft, thick enough to keep you toasty/yet thin enough to wear under any shirt. I will definitely be buying more Minus 33 products.

Minus 33 Crew Top

I own several merino products from SmartWool, Ice Breaker and Ibex. The Minus 33 crew neck top is nice and soft. No itch. It's warm and adequate overall. Functions well for skiing.
There are a couple of things that make it inferior to the top brands. The opening for the crew collar is far too big--giant. I can see it in the photo now, but it's not obvious until you have it in your hands. I don't know what they were thinking. It's made for a pumpkin-head or something. The sleeves are also a bit baggy.
The price kind of makes up for the design flaws, but keeps it from being an all-around great top. I will always wear it underneath something else.
