Care
How should I clean Feather Cloth?
Professional dry cleaning is recommended if you want to avoid shrinkage
completely.
Feather Cloth is machine washable. Even though it has been preshrunk, it is
still possible that Feather Cloth may shrink an additional 2-3% over several
washings, especially if washed in warm or hot water, and thrown in a machine
dryer. To minimize shrinkage, machine wash in cold water, and line dry.
Common Uses
Fly fishing, or saltwater flats fishing, in tropical or warm climates
FAQ
Do your Feather Cloth shirts stop mosquito bites?
Our personal experience is that mosquitoes cannot bite you through our Feather
Cloth, but that isn`t going to stop mosquitoes from getting to you through the
open neck or the cuffs of your Feather Cloth shirt.
Will your Feather Cloth fabric protect me from UVA and UVB radiation?
This is a question that some fishermen ask when considering a purchase, so we
tested our Feather Cloth fabric for its Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF). UPF
is a rating for apparel, similar to Sun Protection Factor (SPF) for sunscreen.
UPF measures the ability of a garment to block harmful UVA (Ultraviolet "Aging")
and UVB (Ultraviolet "Burning") rays. We found that the UPF varies, depending on
the color.
Light Blue has a less than UPF 15 rating
How does Feather Cloth look after it has been washed? Do I need to iron it?
Since it is made from 100% cotton, you may need to iron your Feather Cloth shirt
after washing. Feather Cloth is such a lightweight cotton that it does wrinkle
easily. On the other hand, it air dries very quickly.
