An Interesting Fact:
In 1933, the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam began on the Columbia River in Central Washington. Thousands came from all around the country looking for work and adventure. They knew they were about to embark on a massive undertaking that would make history.... and Filson was there.
The Army Corps. of Engineers made it standard issue to provide dam workers with a Filson Jacket. They wanted their crew to have the best protection from the arduous conditions in one of the most rugged regions of the Northwest. These hardy souls worked around the clock for nine long years through rain, howling winds, and snow flurries and the beating heat of the sun. But they endured to make the world's largest dam of it's time.
