Barge rubber cement is handy to have around the house. It will patch the Northerner rubber boots and will stick just about anything together. Keep a tube around and you'll be surprised how much you use it

The glue is fine - but its arrival story is interesting, too. I ordered, paid for, and was charged for two 2-oz tubes, but received 2 QUARTS of the goo! It was obviously a bit of a mix-up. I called Hanks, explained what had happened, and the very courteous Hanks employee immediately entered another order (again, for two 2-oz tubes), and said there would be a return shipping label arriving in the new order. The two tubes arrived, and the two quarts are on their way back to Hanks. I was impressed with how polite and helpful Hanks was, and would order from Hanks again anytime.

I have been using Barge Cement for years, doing, first, pistol holsters, and now knife sheaths. Barge Cement has always been a top of the line product. I haven't found anything that works as well. The new Barge Cement ( without toluene ) works just as good as the old. However, I did notice one difference, when left in a cold room (such as my shop, when I'm not working) The new cement jels up and refuses to come out of the squeeze tube. If it is heated a little, it turns back to a liquid, with no ill effects.
