Before assembly, this fabric is soaked in Filson's special paraffin - based wax making it highly water repellant. 

The fittings on all our Filson Products, our Filson Duffle Bags, our Filson Outfitter Bag, and our Filson Suitcases are just as tough- with brass zippers and padlocks made to resist corrosion in fresh or salt water. 

The handles and straps are made of Filson Bridle Leather, made from the strongest part of the hide, then vegetable tanned by a lenghty process, for leather that will stand up to the roughest abuse.
